Dale Earnhardt Jr. still has sore back but plans on racing at Darlington

(CNN) — Dale Earnhardt Jr. is only largely retired, therefore he does not intend to miss driving at one of his favourite tracks when NASCAR goes to Darlington Raceway in South Carolina next week.
Earnhardt, who had been a week together with his wifehis wife and two pilots, said he is still hurting from the wreck but intends to take the wheel of a car in the Xfinity Series.
„My lower back is bruised up bad. Plenty of swelling and I just want it to return and the pain to flake outside,“ he also tweeted. „I have been treating the area every day solely to get well to race.“
Earnhardt retired from full-time racing but he’s raced once since then year at an Xfinity race at Richmond. Earnhardt is currently a television analyst for NBC and a team owner.
On Monday, after bypassing the races at Bristol, Tennessee, near where his plane crashed after a hard landing, Earnhardt thanked hospital employees, emergency responders and his pilots.
„We’re truly blessed that all on board escaped without any serious injuries, such as our daughter, both pilots as well as our dog Gus,“ Earnhardt added.
Racing fans are awaiting the one look this past year of Earnhardt. He also holds the record for winning 15 years in a row to the circuit’s most popular driver award.
