Phillies vs. Braves MLB Pick – September 18th

The Philadelphia Phillies were Behaving with a determined team in SunTrust Park against the Atlanta Braves last night.

A inning was ridden by them to victory. Atlanta got started at the bottom of the 1st. They tacked on two runs against Vince Velasquez, but were quiet after having a couple of RBI’s by Matt Joyce and Josh Donaldson.
Velasquez was able to settle in and didn’t allow another run in his time on the mound. He travelled strong innings with two earned runs allowed for a day. Though Velasquez was able to following a 1st inning the Braves are not an easy lineup to slow down.
They haven’t been playing baseball of late while the Phillies want a great deal of wins down the stretch. This was their second win since September 11th. The Phillies are 2-3 in their past five matches. If this were the middle of the summer, a 2-3 stretch wouldn’t sound so bad, but the Phillies cannot afford to get stuck in five-game windows below .500. There are not enough games left to conquer the hole that they find themselves in at the moment.
They are going to sit in the offseason and question what the hell happened, When the Phillies miss out on the postseason, which appears likely? We signed the most slugger in the majors, adding him to the team and we didn’t improve. Results will have to follow 2020 or thoughts will be rolling up in Philadelphia.
There is not going to be the time for any droughts for Bryce Harper. He will get dealt criticism if that is the case. It was a great win for the Phils previous night. They wanted it and want tonight too. While Julio Teheran is expected for the Braves zach Eflin is scheduled to get the starting nod. Head under for our free Phillies vs. Braves pick.

Things got last night. Hector Neris turned for Phillies‘ fans, since the Braves scored a series and set a runner on 1st and 3rd with only 1 out. Neris managed to get out of the jam, though, along with a 5-4 triumph was recorded by the Phillies.
Huge win away from getting into the postseason but they’re still more than a couple of wins. The on fire switch is going to have to have turned on today. Zach Eflin will be tasked with notching wins for the Phillies this day. Eflin has seemed to find it out after struggling horribly early in this summer.
Eflin enters having the ERA of 4.20 and 1.34 WHIP. His best work has come lately, where he has recently posted an ERA of 1.72 and also 1.02 WHIP in his past three tilts. He’s been pitching the best and well since Eflin was demoted to the bullpen we have seen him this year. He has not allowed more than just 3 runs and returned on August 17th to the starting rotation.
His latest appearance was an impressive tonight. Eflin held the Braves to no runs over 3.2 innings. He’d get into trouble, however. It wasn’t a perfect match, since Eflin allowed 3 hits and 3 walks to complete with 25.9 pitches per inning. Any longer at Eflin and the match may have suffered some harm.
The Braves have had success against Eflin in the past, because they are hitting .323 using a .396 OBP at 99 at-bats. The power numbers have been excellent as well, with 28 runs scored against Eflin and 10 home runs. Expect the Braves for in this one to Eflin after he escaped hurt last week.
Julio Teheran is on the insides of a jagged performance against the Phillies at Philadelphia. He was tagged for five earned runs in a 9-5 loss. Teheran will be back in the home where he’s been much better. The road has not been good for himas he has posted a 4.07 ERA rather than a 2.89 ERA at home. In 12 from 13 starts, Teheran given 3 or fewer runs Ahead of this outing from the Phillies. Look after becoming handed a reduction on Tuesday 14, to respond.
