Richard Agar appointed Leeds Rhinos head coach

Richard Agar has been appointed in a rolling contract as Leeds Rhinos‘ head coach for the 2020 year , after spending four weeks as interim boss.
Agar has been in charge following Leeds lost 10 of the first 14 Super League games considering that Dave Furner was in May.
The former France head coach has guided Leeds to seven wins in their succeeding 14 league games and the Rhinos are put to finish eighth at the table.
Agar said:“I have thoroughly enjoyed working for this team of players and helping them turn the corner this season.
„That really is an outstanding golf club both on and off the field, and it is our responsibility over the coming decades to once again challenge for honours over an ongoing period.“
Agar confirmed to Sky Sports that he held“positive“ talks with club chief executive Gary Hetherington and director of rugby Kevin Sinfield following last Sunday’s win in London Broncos, which effectively secured their Super League status.
Following Agar’s appointment, Sinfield stated:“We’re delighted to be able to affirm Richard as our new Head Coach.
„The manner in which he’s conducted this season, during very hard circumstances, has shown us that he is the ideal person for the job.
„We are fortunate to have the ability to call upon one of their most experienced trainers in the sport and importantly somebody who knows our players also knows the capacity for the group of young guys.“
The 47-year-old began working as the assistant of Furner when James Lowes abandoned the club in April union and shot on a temporary basis when the Australian was sacked.
Agar goal was to avoid.
