Bellator Newcastle Occurs Saturday, February 9 in Utilita Arena in Newcastle on Tyne, United Kingdom.

The offshore sportsbooks lately opened the full odds for the main card, and here they are.
Bellator Newcastle Odds
Patricky Pitbull -510
Ryan Scope +340
Aaron Chalmers -275
Corey Browning +195
Terry Brazier -530
Chris Bungard +350
Fabian Edwards -380
Lee Chadwick +280
And here are my first ideas on the Bellator Newcastle opening lines:
Like many Bellator cards, this one is filled with big favorites. Most of them need to win, including Pitbull in the main event against Scope. The large different here is clearly the expertise and degree of competition faced. Pitbull has been among the best lightweights in Bellator for years (and most likely one of the most underrated lightweights in the game ) while Scope is a Bellator newcomer who has not fought anyone of note, save for a split decision win over former UFC fighter Mickel Lebout in his last bout. Scope has in fact been involved in the sport since a teen, however, has never really made it big, while Pitbull is still one of the best lightweights in Bellator. I anticipate Pitbull to get his hands raised and he will be a popular parlay piece amongst bettors.
I am not totally sold on Chalmers and that I wouldn’t be surprised if Browning pulled off yet another upset. Chalmers has four first-round endings, but the former reality TV celebrity in England has been getting simple matchups by the matchmakers. Browning was not supposed to be competitive against Baby Slice within his Bellator debut, but he ended up completing Kevin Ferguson Jr. by knockout in one of the biggest upsets of 2018 in MMA. I believe Browning is probably somewhat better than many of us believe he is, and that I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he’s the upset here. As far as I’m concerned, this is a dog-or-pass situation.
Brazier is creating his Bellator using a whole lot of hype as a former BAMMA champion. He’s won his last nine fights and has not tasted defeat since a 2015 knockout loss which was his sole livelihood defeat. Bungard has a decent quantity of experience on the European regional circuit and is an adequate gatekeeper type of fighter, but this is obviously Bellator looking to match up Brazier with a guy who he can beat in his promotional introduction. Like Pitbull, I expect Brazier to win this battle handily and expect him to become a favorite parlay piece too.
Like Pitbull and Brazier, Edwards looks like he will be a favorite chalk piece also. The brother of the UFC’s Leon is just 5-0 and he’s only 25, meaning he has a glowing MMA career before him. Chadwick is a veteran of 40 fights and has fought a lot of England’s top fighters, but he has been finished twice, including four knockout losses, and this looks like another fight where the heavy favorite needs to glow. I would certainly keep your eye out to the Edwards inside the space props, but he’s another man to think about putting to a Bellator chalk parlay.
