Atlanta Braves at Washington Nationals MLB Pick – September 15th

The wins just keep coming this week! Last evening we picked up another underdog winner, this time around the Atlanta Braves (+108) from the Washington Nationals. As the Braves were certainly the better team the line didn’t make any sense, as well as Mike Foltynewicz I felt that they had the top of their starting pitching matchup also. While Folty had struggled badly in the season, he figured things out, had been sent down to the minors and was fantastic. So, the Braves were fired by me and felt like I was in a wonderful place to pick up worth.
Foltynewicz shined as he tossed six innings of both one-run ball also picked up the win. Surprisingly , Nationals newcomer Austin Voth pretty much match Foltynewicz pitch for pitch because he allowed just 1 run too and pitched five and two-thirds of an inning. However, the problem for the Nationals was the last night as it’s been all season long.
The Nationals bullpen was horrifically this year. They’ve spent a lot of the time as the pen in the majors, and they surely have the worst aid team. And they were awful. Even the Washington bullpen got blasted for a whopping nine runs in just over three innings of work, despite what was once a competitive match for the majority of the day and when the smoke cleared, the Braves took a victory.
The reduction was a major one for the Nationals since they have lost seven from their past ten games, along with the Chicago Cubs are just a game and a half of Washington for the wild card at the National League. To make things worse, the Brewers are just one game out, along with the Mets and Phillies are in the mixture. They are going to be left out come playoff time, When the Nationals can not find a way to turn things around quickly.
For Atlanta, they locked up a playoff spot last night together with the win and therefore are days away from locking up the division title as well, with a number of merely three. With the Braves win and reduction by the Los Angeles Dodgers, Atlanta now trails LA by three games for the best record in the match, and the best seed in the game. Atlanta would love nothing more than to knock the Nats from contention today. For the selection of today, we’ll remain here at the Nation’s Capital as the Nationals host the Braves for game three.
The Atlanta Braves are all searching in game three to get a three-game show with the Nationals this morning for the sweep. The Braves have dominated this series far as they maintain a cumulative run edge that was 15-1 and have won both matches. And since a notice that was sudden, that the Nationals were preferred in both of those first two matches, but that didn’t stop the Braves from blowing them out. The Braves are trying to finish the sweep off and knock at the Nationals back into the card conversation this day.
Beginning for the Braves is Max Fried (16-5 4.02 ERA), also for the Nationals it is Anibal Sanchez (8-8 4.04 ERA). The match total over-under is put at two and a half conducts. The Braves have been -113 street favorites. First pitch is scheduled for 10:38 PM PST from Nationals Park in Washington DC.
Max Fried was not assumed to be a part of the Braves rotation this year. He began his year pitching from the bullpen to get Atlanta and was called up in April for one spot beginning. But when he looked good, he earned another start, and then a second. That trend continued for a couple of weeks, and eventually, Fried made his keep and was appointed an official portion of this Atlanta starting pitching team.
And he’s been excellent. Fried trails Stephen Strasburg for the National League lead with sixteen wins and directs the NL. He lost his last start, but before that, he hadn’t lost a beginning. What has likely been the most striking thing which Fried has achieved this season is win matches. The Braves have been 21-7 in games this year in which Fried has started. He pitched against these Nationals two weeks back and had one of the best starts as he threw seven innings and allowed no runs and only one hit while striking out twice.
Anibal Sanchez continues to be all over the place this season. He had been awful having an ERA of almost six runs in six starts. He started his season out. He won his eight conclusions and set up a stretch where he allowed one run or fewer in six from eight starts. And then here in September he’s begun to fight again, with a 0-2 record and 6.75 ERA in 2 starts.
Sanchez has made four starts against the Braves this season with little success. He had been fantastic, pitching six shutout innings. But in the next three starts he got smashed for eleven runs on strikes and pitched a joint sixteen innings. He gave up a ten strikes and faced the Braves on July 31st and also the Nationals lost.
This is a number as it started up with Washington. It simply made no sense at all. I pounced on it last night. The rest of the sharps followed suit and all that early action has flipped to where it stands today this number, as street favorites that were small using the Braves. And while that amount is a one, I feel like there is significant value.
We know that Fried is currently going to be great. He owns the Nationals this season and has been excellent. And maybe Sanchez is acceptable, or he has smashed. However, in fact, it doesn’t matter at that much because he is not going to have the ability to pitch the game. At some stage the Nationals will have to turn over matters to their bullpen that is dreadful, and you can’t expect that the Braves to punish them, when they do.
Even the Washington bullpen has been for twenty five earned runs already in the series‘ first two matches, hammered, and I would expect that trend to continue today. So the Braves reach Sanchez early, or they need to wait until the bullpen becomes involved, but I see plenty of runs. And that makes me like a drama the Braves. Give that the Atlanta Braves to me !
